On the brink of a disastrous split-up, they receive word that they might just have one last shot at stardom: Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinée, and if he likes what he sees, he might cast them in his movie remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Unfortunately for George and Charlotte, everything that could go wrong does go wrong, abetted by a visit from their daughter’s clueless fiancé and hilarious uncertainty about which play they’re actually performing.

Keep your eyes open on January 28, when hundreds of people dressed as mountain gorillas will run through Camp Mabry in Austin. The Mountain Gorilla Conservation Fund is hosting the 7th Annual Austin Gorilla Run. The race, for both adults and kids, starts and finishes at the Camp Mabry Parade Field. Registrants are able to choose a gorilla or a banana costume, which is theirs to keep! Costumes are available for pickup at different locations around Austin before the run. An after party with food, drinks & music will follow. Valid IDs are required for entry into Camp Mabry!
Proceeds from the race directly benefit the Ruth Keesling Wildlife Health and Research Center in Kampala, Uganda. A first of its kind research center for Africa! In 1987 there were only 248 mountain gorillas alive in the world, but through the veterinary and conservation efforts of the MGCF, we are proud to announce the population is currently estimated at 880!
22nd Annual Cupid’s Chase 5k Run/Walk & Kids’ Fun Run

The 22nd Annual Cupid’s Chase 5k Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, February 4 and will benefit the Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department. The course is set through historic downtown Georgetown as well as Southwestern University and local parks. There is a kid’s fun run that begins at 7:30AM and the 5k Run/Walk is set to begin at 8AM. Participants in the Kid’s Fun Run will receive a short sleeve t-shirt, a participant award and a goody bag! Additionally, participants can dress up in their best cupid-related costume and be eligible to win prizes provided by Gus’s Drug.
14th Annual Daddy Daughter Dance – “Boots, Bows and Bling”

The Clay Madsen Recreation Center welcomes dads and daughters of all ages to the 14th annual Daddy Daughter Dance on Saturday, February 4 from 5PM to 10:30PM. Two identical dances are held for different age groups.
5PM to 7:30PM — Girls ages infant through 7
8PM to 10:30PM — Girls ages 8 and up
Light refreshments will be served at each dance. Daughters are able to compete in a dance contest, enjoy refreshments, have pictures taken by a professional photographer, and experience a night of making memories. The father and daughter couples dance the night away to music from both generations.
Purchase your tickets at www.roundrockrecreation.com for $7 per person. Tickets are presale only while supplies last. Ticket prices will increase after January 23 to $10. This event usually sells out, so get your tickets early for this delightful evening for daughters and dads to share together!
