Brushy Creek MUD is hosting the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson at Cat Hollow Pool for FREE! The purpose is to promote the importance of learning how to swim. Participants in this free event will receive commemorative wrist bands, cookies, ice cream and lemonade for completing the event. Open for all ages!

Luling Watermelon Thump

For over 60 years, residents of Luling celebrate a summer favorite - the watermelon - with a four-day festival that includes live music, a parade, carnival, kiddie rides, food booths, exhibitor market, beer garden and more. Thursday opens the fair with live music and mechanical bull riding. Saturday morning is the Watermelon Thump parade with over 200 floats. Saturday’s events also include a watermelon eating contest and seed-spitting contest. Sunday attendees can enjoy the 16th annual car show.
Live music is scheduled throughout the weekend and bands includes Jason Boland and the Stragglers, Rotel and the Hot Tomatoes, LC Rocks, William Clark Green, Hunter Rea Band, Gary P Nunn, and more.
Daddy Daughter Dance

Dads and daughters (ages 4 and up) are invited to attend the 3rd Annual Daddy Daughter Dance, sponsored by Friends of Georgetown Parks & Recreation. Highlights include a professional and family friendly DJ, professional photographer with royal carriage for portraits, caricature artist, and a special raffle. Light refreshments and snacks will be served. Wear your party attire. Tickets are $15 or $20 at the door. All proceeds benefit the Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation.

Round Rock Sertoma July Fourth Parade

The Round Rock parade will be held at 10AM in downtown Round Rock. Last year, over 2,000 people participated in the parade and 20,000 spectators attended. The parade has become the signature event in Round Rock. After the parade, more fun can be found at Prete Main Street Plaza in the free Parks and Recreation Activity Zone with a caricature artist, face painters and balloon twisters.
July Fourth Frontier Days Celebration

True Independence Day fun can be had at the annual Frontier Days celebration at Old Settlers Park. This free event for the whole family includes carnival rides, jalapeño pepper eating contest, Swifty Swine Pig Races, fireworks and more! Independence Day festivities will begin with free watermelon at the Lakeview Pavilion in Old Settlers Park and include music from the Austin Symphonic Band. The schedule for the day also includes children’s games, vendors booths, rubber duck races, a Sam Bass Shootout with live stunt men, a movies in the park and skydivers! Other musical performances include Ballet Folklorico, The Sieker Band, Camp Cookie Trio and more. The day of fun ends with a thrilling firework show accompanied by the Austin Symphonic Band and a movie in the park.
Brushy Creek 4th of July Parade and Festival

The Brushy Creek MUD will host a 4th of July parade with trophies given to parade participants in different categories. After the parade, a family-friendly festival will include free activities, including a bounce castle, foam pit, inflatable water slide, a “spray down” from the Sam Bass Fire Department truck, face panting, inflatable rock wall, food vendors and much more.
