RJF Team Cares, in partnership with the Robert J Fischer Team and Emerald Lawns, wants to provide assistance and awareness to those in need. RJF Team Cares wants to join with the community to give back and provide a way to support those who need a helping hand. As part of this mission, RJF Team Cares pledges to give away a cash donation to a worthy charity, church or family in need based on the nominations and votes of the local community every other month. RJF Team Cares wants to find the need and then act as the conduit for neighbors to help each other in ways big and small.

In April RJF Team Cares, with the partnership of Emerald Lawns, the Robert J Fischer Team and anonymous donors, gave away over $6,300 to the three charities chosen for the first RJF Team Cares Community Vote. Representatives from Project Care Case, Pick with Austin and STARRY all stopped by the Robert J Fischer Team offices to share their stories and how each group is helping our community be stronger. Video from the check presentation ceremony can be found at RJFteamCares.org.

Nominations for the next Community Vote were taken for churches and mission groups during the month of April. Throughout May, RJF Team Cares is hosting a Community Vote for the three churches and mission groups located in Central Texas that were chosen from the nominees submitted by the community.

This month we’ll be giving away a minimum of $5,000 with the first place charity in the vote receiving 70% of the funds, second place receiving 20%, and third place receiving 10%. The donations will be presented to each of the three groups in early June. The three nominees chosen are local churches and organizations doing work both locally and around the world. Here is just a little bit about each of this month’s nominees:

Set Free Alliance

Set Free Alliance rescues children, cares for them, educates them, spiritually nurtures them, equips them, launches them, and they give back. To date over $80,000 has been paid forward by the Set Free graduates. Over 8,000 children have been rescued to date, the majority of them from slavery. 100% of all public donations support the rescued children. No overhead, 100% helps the children. Reaching Others Through Christ

Reaching Others Through Christ (ROTC) is a mission organization in which Junior High students travel to small Texas towns and construct wheelchair ramps for members of those communities in need, at no cost to the homeowner. If we were to be awarded this donation, 100% of the money would go directly to scholarships for students who cannot afford to attend camp and to cover some of the costs of camp itself, including building materials, programs and worship.

Legacy Church – Orissa Orphanage

Legacy Church began six and a half years ago with the mission to Love God and People. We have a heart for children from hard places, regardless of where in the world they might be. One of the places we see God at work is in Orissa, India. Legacy has maintained a great partnership for the past five years with an amazing orphanage for boys in Paralakamundi, Orissa, India. Many of the boys in the orphanage are there because their parents were victims of persecution of Christians.

This orphanage is operated by Life Change Movement, under the leadership of Diptiman Lima. Diptiman has a heart for his surrounding community as well as the next generation. Through the partnership with Legacy and Life Change Movement, the boys are provided with a place to sleep, an education, daily food, clean water, and medical supplies. The teachers for these boys do their best to provide a place of physical, emotional, and spiritual safety. The boys are extremely grateful and happy there. We long for others to walk alongside us in supporting these amazing boys!

Donations directly to one of the three nominees or contributions to the main RJF Team Cares fund that will be distributed between the winners are also being accepted. Voting will be open until midnight on May 31 at RJFteamCares.org.
