With summer hot on our heels (quite literally) - temperatures are expected to be scorching. Thankfully, there are plenty of local swimming spots that can help us cool down, get outside, and enjoy being a part of Central TX. Check out this quick list of local swimming spots that you and your family can go to this summer:

  • Barton Springs - 2201 Barton Springs Rd.
    • Located in Zilker Park, this 3-acre natural spring stays at a refreshing 68 degree temperature year round. It is equipped with diving boards, shallow areas, public restrooms, and lifeguards.
  • Son's Island - 110 Lee St. 
    • This is a place where you can swim, fish, swing off rope swings, go kayaking, paddleboarding, and more in Seguin, TX on Lake Placid. Check it out, rent a cabana, and make a day trip out of it! 
  • Krause Springs - 404 Krause Springs Rd.

  • McKinney Falls State Park in Austin - 5808 McKinney Falls Parkway
    • From swimming to camping, this place has it all. It is $6/day per adult and children 12 yrs and younger are free. Make reservations for your day passes HERE.
  • Blue Hole in Georgetown - 100 Blue Hole Park
    • This FREE swimming hole is a classic. Free, not too crowded, refreshing, and fun! Click HERE for more info.
  • Pace Bend Park on Lake Travis - 2805 Pace Bend Park on Lake Travis
    • This contains everything you need for a perfect day on the lake! There is a boat ramp, fishing spots, geocoaching spots, hiking and biking trails, and tons of room to swim!
