This combination art fair and music festival is a highlight of the Austin holiday season. The Armadillo Christmas Bazaar includes an amazing array of handmade items from more than 160 artists while fair-goers can enjoy live music and drinks from a full bar. Exhibits include items from collectible pieces to stocking stuffers from artists all over the country. Musicians perform at least three times each day and range from new and upcoming artists to local legends and Grammy winners. Check the website for information on tickets and schedule.
Williamson County Symphony Orchestra Concert

During this holiday season, the Williamson County Symphony Orchestra will be performing two free shows in the Round Rock and Cedar Park area featuring beloved holiday music! The Orchestra will play several of the dances from Tchaikovsky’s ballet The Nutcracker. The concert includes Mel Torme’s “The Christmas Song” and the rollicking “Sleigh Ride” by Leroy Anderson, as well as numerous Christmas carols, and a rendition of “Carol of the Bells”. In addition, the Orchestra will present two special treats this concert series: a world premiere of Dr. M L Daniels’ new piece, “Joy and Glory, O’ Bethlehem”, which musically describes the events around the birth of Jesus, and an original piece, “Sloane Everly”, for the Orchestra to premiere.

This unique market is held every third Saturday of the month, weather permitting, in the front lot of the Round Rock Premium Outlets. Austin’s New Year (ANY) is an annual alcohol-free celebration that showcases a variety of visual art, jugglers, storytellers, food trucks, and live music on three stages. The free event begins at 4PM at Auditorium Shores, South 1st Street and Riverside Drive, with a fireworks finale at 10PM This year’s line-up includes music from Grupo Fantasma, Golden Dawn Arkestra, Carolyn Wonderland, The Statesboro Revue, Big Cat, Vallejo, KP and the Boom Boom, Shawn Nelson, and Kalu James. The Community Stage will also feature The Watters, Tiarra Girls, Big Don, and Band Aid.
1st Thursday Art Reception at ArtSpace with Round Rock Arts

New art exhibits are presented each month at ArtSpace, an art gallery staffed by volunteers located in downtown Round Rock on Main Street next to the Round Rock Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. Round Rock Arts invites the public to attend First Thursday Artist Receptions from 5:30 to 7:00PM, which are come and go events to meet the artists and view their work. Light refreshments are served. The Space hosts monthly art exhibits representing Round Rock area artists and occasionally hosts demonstrations and artist lectures. ArtSpace public hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11 am – 3 pm.
