They provide saws and net your tree for free. A few pre-cut firs are available for purchase as well, but take advantage of the full experience and cut down your own Christmas tree this year. Abrameit’s also has wreaths and garlands for sale to help decorate the rest of your home.

If you’ve ever cut your own Christmas tree in Central Texas, you’ve probably visited the Elgin CHRISTmas Tree Farm. This popular location is opened year round and holds regular educational field trips and family events. Along with Virginia Pine and Leyland Cypress Christmas trees, the Elgin CHRISTmas Tree Farm offers scenic hayrides, fresh made wreaths, animal visits, a crazy maze and playground for additional fun. On Sunday, they host Church on the Farm at 11AM before tree sales begin.

Evergreen Farms provides all the tools you need to cut and harvest the perfect tree for your family celebrations. Additional activities are available, including tetherball, hopscotch and bean bag toss games, a nature trail and visits with the farm’s animals. Additional activities such as marshmallow roasting and pine cone painting are available on the weekends for a fee.

Kristof’s Christmas Tree Farm in Caldwell provides the opportunity to get fresh air as you wander the six acre farm, maybe catch a glimpse of a jack rabbit and enjoy the outdoors as you search for your perfect tree. Kristof’s provides a bow saw and kneeling pads to all tree searchers, and the fine folks assist in shaking out the loose needles, wrapping it in a net and assist with loading to make sure your perfect tree makes it safely to your home. They also have fresh cut Fraser fir trees from North Carolina available for purchase if you don’t want to go through the process of cutting a tree down yourself.

Bring the family out to Temple to see the selection of over 1,000 Christmas trees at Silo Christmas Tree Farm. They have imported North Carolina Fraser firs and Washington State Noble firs if you’re looking to buy a pre-cut tree, ranging from six feet to 12 feet tall. Silo Christmas Tree Farm also has choose and cut Afghan pine trees and Murray Cypress Christmas trees starting at six feet tall. Free hayrides are available with the purchase of any of the farm’s trees or wreaths on the weekends while games for the family include a hay jump, tether ball, dress the farmer and a farm maze.
