All veterans and members of the community are invited to attend the Round Rock Veterans Day ceremony held at Veterans Park, 600 Pecan Ave, on Wednesday, November 11. Activities will begin at 11:00 a.m. There will be a presentation of colors, acknowledgement of military veterans, patriotic music and dedication of recognition plaques for the Veterans Monument dedicated at the park in May. Earl Hairston, former Round Rock City Councilmember and a retired Army officer, will be the keynote speaker. Hairston served on the City Council from 1998-2001. He retired as a colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve in 2013, serving two tours in Afghanistan and one in Africa as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. Hairston also served in the Gulf War.
Holiday Bazaar Arts & Crafts Show

The City of Round Rock’s Clay Madsen Recreation Center invites the community to the 13th Annual Rockin’ Around the Holidays Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015. A variety of vendors will be present selling unique and handcrafted items and live music will be scheduled at times throughout the day. Admission is free, but please bring a canned good donation for the Round Rock Serving Center. A shuttle service will be available from the nearby Randall’s parking lot.

The local Police Department will team up with the US Army for this local food drive! Participants will hike two miles from the U.S. Army Round Rock Recruiting Center to the Round Rock Area Serving Center carrying rucksacks filled with food. The public is encouraged to join the hike alongside the men and women of the Police Department and U.S. Army. Donations of nonperishable food items are currently being collected until the start of the hike

Young entrepreneurs will be showcased at the Children’s Business Fair held November 14 at 10:00 am. Kids create a product or service, develop a brand, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers at this one-day marketplace. The children are responsible for the setup, sales, and interacting with customers. This event is sponsored by Acton Academy North and promotes principled entrepreneurs for the next generation.

Join the Round Rock Parks and Recreation for the inaugural Turkey Bowl 4v4 Flag Football Tournament on Saturday, November 21 at the Old Settlers Park multipurpose fields (by tennis courts). Different age divisions are available so that all ages can play! Experience all new displays this year at the fourth annual Rock’N Lights Holiday Light Tour. Rock’N Lights is a drive-through light show that features thousands of sparkling lights through Old Settlers Park from Nov. 30 to Dec. 26. With 2 million lights, the 1.5-mile path is the must-see event of the season. The 2015 show features a longer light tunnel and finishes at a bigger and brighter Christmas Towne, located at the Old Settlers Association and Dell Diamond parking lot. Park admission into the Rock’N Lights Tour includes entry into Christmas Towne (Christmas Towne is open Dec. 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24).
After you’ve driven through the lights, visit Christmas Towne to experience light displays, full-scale carnival rides, a light maze, pedal go kart rides, petting zoo, holiday food, holiday entertainment and more. Christmas Towne will feature the exciting Thomas Carnival, Inc. featuring full-scale carnival rides for all ages! The carnival will be open each night of Christmas Towne from 5 to 10 p.m. contingent upon the weather. Featured rides include Barnyard, Merry-Go-Round, Martian Maze, Crystal, Lil’s House of Mirrors, Pharaoh’s Fury, Super Shot, Tilt-a-Whirl & Fun Slide. Three carnival games and a food stand will also be featured in the carnival. Tickets for the carnival rides or games will be sold separately.

The players of the fictional KPNF radio station are celebrating the season with an adaptation of Charles Dicken’s much cherished masterpiece, “A Christmas Carol”. Penfold Theatre Company presents A Christmas Carol Classic Radiocast, adapted from Charles Dickens, by Nathan Jerkins and directed by Philip Olson. Shows will run at Old Settler’s Hall from December 3 through December 26. Ebeneezer Scrooge, Bob Cratchet, the Spirits, and dozens of others are brought to life by a small company of voice actors and live sound effects reminiscent of “A Prairie Home Companion”. Together, they tell the stirring story of an ice-hearted miser who is given a last shot at redemption one miraculous Christmas Eve night!

Come celebrate the 35th Annual Christmas Stroll in Georgetown Texas! Every year, the Georgetown Square is transformed into a Christmas vision, complete with lighted trees, old fashioned lamp poles and Santa himself. Visitors can see a Bethlehem Village or find the Grinch and his characters in Whoo-Village. Friday night, visitors will enjoy holiday music on two stages and Saturday will welcome Santa as he wraps up the parade. You can find Santa for pictures at the Christmas Tree Farm on 8th St. Holiday music continues throughout the day on both stages. Shop all day at over 130 vendors that line the streets of the picturesque square. Enjoy the wonderful holiday window displays from the many merchants along the Square, the fabulous food in the food court as well as the many restaurants to choose from around the Square. There are many activities to be found as well for the kids. Home Depot will have a building project and cookie decorating will be available at Whoo-Village. The Christmas Stroll is a free event!

Christmas Family Night is a free event organized by the City of Round Rock that includes activities for the entire family including live music, dancers, candle making, game booths, Frosty the Snowman, Santa Claus and more! Children can bring their wishlists for Santa Claus and parents are encouraged to bring their own cameras for pictures with Santa. Everyone can enjoy free hot dogs, popcorn, hot chocolate, and other refreshments, activities and snacks. Christmas Family Night is made possible thanks to the help of community groups and organizations that donate their services to offer this fun and free event.
