The West Line Historic District Neighborhood
Austin, Texas
Named for a line of streetcars that once crossed through Downtown Austin, Texas, the West Line Historic District is just what its name states, a preserved piece of history encompassing twenty-five individual suburbs, some of which date back to 1871. Delightfully hilly and green, West Line Historic District has an eccentric grid of streets that flow with Mother Nature rather than against her. Green with an overgrowth of mature trees and homes that make one want to stop and stare, the community is a piece of vintage wonder.
The Homes of West Line Historic District
Whether you’re looking for a craftsman-styled cottage or a neoclassical mansion, you will find what you’re looking for in the West Line Historic District. Classical revival-influenced bungalows mingle for a touch of coziness, and every street is lined with gorgeous and towering oaks. Built mainly between 1871 and 1948, homes in the West Line Historic District range wildly in square footage and the number of bedrooms and bathrooms.
