Also known as North University, the North Campus neighborhood in Austin, Texas, located ideally north of the University of Texas in Austin, is home to a large population of University students and professors. Close to Hyde Park and centered around Dean Keaton Street, the neighborhood is quiet for a college community, diverse, and lushly tree-lined. Waller Creek winds its way through the area, which boasts farmer’s markets, as well as several parks and green spaces. This bike-friendly community is the preferred home to UT graduate students who want to concentrate on learning as much as they desire an active nightlife and social scene, where hip-hop dance parties can be regularly found. The community is easily walkable, a rarity in Austin, with most residents, who can commute by foot in one to twenty minutes to UT, or as quickly as six minutes by bike.

The Homes of North Campus

Primarily established and constructed starting in 1960 and continuing till today, the variety of architectural styles makes for a pleasant distraction in North Campus. Condos built between the 70s and 80s make up a large portion of the housing for the student population. Square footage ranges from 800 to 4,500, with one-bedroom studios up to five-bedroom and four-bathroom homes.
